Tips to developing healthy sleep habits

  1. Aim for 7 to 9 hours per night
  2. Reduce caffeine intake by 2 pm
  3. Avoid alcohol intake within 3 hours
  4. Exercise regularly
  5. Get sunlight in the morning
  6. Cool your room to 65 to 75 degrees
  7. Avoid blue light 2 hours before bed (TV, computers, cellphone, etc.)
  8. Do meditation before bed
  9. Get assessed for sleep disorders / sleep apnea
  10. Ask your doctor for medications / supplements (magnesium and melatonin)
