Tips to developing healthy sleep habits
- Aim for 7 to 9 hours per night
- Reduce caffeine intake by 2 pm
- Avoid alcohol intake within 3 hours
- Exercise regularly
- Get sunlight in the morning
- Cool your room to 65 to 75 degrees
- Avoid blue light 2 hours before bed (TV, computers, cellphone, etc.)
- Do meditation before bed
- Get assessed for sleep disorders / sleep apnea
- Ask your doctor for medications / supplements (magnesium and melatonin)
