Linda Sawan

MEd, LPC
I am happily married and the proud mother of two wonderful adult children and an adorable rescue dog. My work experience for the past twenty some years has included various forms of counseling in a variety of settings. I have worked as a job coach with adults with intellectual disabilities. I counseled adolescents in residential treatment for substance abuse. I have worked with children and adults in clinical settings and facilitated prevention/social skills groups for students in schools. Most recently, I served as a high school counselor, with an added emphasis on college and career counseling. I am energized by other people and happiest when I am connecting with others. It has been my joy and privilege to work with individuals and families in assisting them in achieving their goals.
My educational background includes a Bachelor’s degree from Northern Kentucky University and Masters degree from Xavier University. I attended part-time as a non traditional student, while raising my young children. I love learning, and college afforded me the opportunity to explore various counseling strategies, while equipping me with the skills needed to attend to a wide range of clients.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and certified in Reality Therapy/Choice Theory. I am knowledgeable of substance abuse treatment, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Rogerian Client Centered Therapy. I believe that each individual has strengths, and focusing on these strengths will improve one’s quality of life. I have worked with individuals dealing with issues including addiction, anxiety, depression, anger and grief, teaching them coping skills to improve their lives.
